Triple “C” Cake

Triple “C” Cake

What is Triple “C” Cake?
Chocolate Cherry Coke Cake! Oh, yea! That’s what I’m talkin’ bout!
I heard that you can just mix a can of Coke and a box of cake mix. I wanted to see it for myself…long story short…it works! The cake comes out super fluffy, crumbly, and airy.
But the real star of this recipe is the easy decadent cherry cream cheese frosting!
Come on Sunflowers, grab your mixing bowls and spatulas for another goodie that you will bake over and over again!

***Turn oven on to 350 degrees***

Ingredients Needed:

For the Cake:

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can of Coke
  • olive oil spray
  • 13 by 9-inch glass pan

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup of butter (1 stick of butter, room temperature)
  • 1 8 oz block of cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 6 tablespoons of maraschino juice
  • 12 maraschino cherries (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • hand mixer

Cake Time!

1. First, spray the 18 by 9-inch pan generously with olive oil. In a mixing bowl empty the cake mix out and slowly pour the whole can of coke on top.

ooh…

ahhh…

so fizzy!

2. Now just whisk it together until incorporated.

3. Pour all that chocolatey goodness into the sprayed pan and bake for 25 minutes.

There she is! That fluffy, chocolate pillow of tastiness!

*To make sure the cake is done, it’s best to stick a toothpick in the center.
The toothpick should come out with the tiniest little crumbs on it and should be dry, not wet with cake batter.*

Frosting Time!

  1. In a bowl, measure out the maraschino juice, a stick of butter, and a stick of cream cheese. Use a hand mixer to blend all together until smooth.

2. Add the vanilla and the powdered sugar, blend well with hand mixer.

Now you got yourself a smooth, creamy, and cherry treat!
But wait! There’s more!!!

3. Hey! Don’t skimp on the frosting! Pour all that frosting on top of the cake!

4. Spread frosting evenly using a spatula until it’s all pink and purdy lookin’!

5. Cut up 12 cherries into tiny pieces, (because 12 cherries is all I had left).

6. Sprinkle all over the frosted cake.

I have to say, the 12 cherries worked out perfectly! You get some in every bite!

Check out the beautiful layers from the side view…lookin good!

the best part…

You gotta try this! Come on, it’s simple and so so good! Let me know what you think.
