Weird White Chocolate Bars

Weird White Chocolate Bars

This is my review of the weird white chocolate goodie I found online going through Pinterest. Credit to Brittany for the original recipe: http://www.thehellohoneyblog.com/funwiththefullwoods/2016/12/11/creme-brle-cookie-bars?rq=%20cookie%20bars. On her blog she had called them Creme Brulee Cookie Bars, which is a French dessert. It is a custard that has sugar on top of it that has been caramelized using a torch.
Guess what? You don’t need custard or a torch for this recipe!

By the way, they are freakin delicious! Just because I put weird in the title, does not mean I didn’t like them.
It is such a simple bar to make that you can bring anywhere and to anyone. They will enjoy it.
But of course, you should bake this recipe for yourself first. You’re going to love the gooey middle and crunch on the outside. You may not want to share.
The combination of white chocolate chips and toffee bits was pretty genius. As I was mixing the ingredients, I just kept thinking how strange the texture and flavor was going to be, but it turned out great!

Ingredients Needed:

  • 12 ounces of white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1 1/4 cups of flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of toffee bits
  • 9×9 glass pan, spray with olive oil
  • Great music booming in the background

***Turn your oven on to 350 degrees***

1. Spray that glass with olive oil real nice!

2. Melt butter and white chocolate chips in a pot on the stove with low heat, stirring occasionally. It will look mushy, not smooth.
Don’t worry, you’re doing it right!
Remove from heat and cool.

3. In a bowl mix together the flour, sugar, vanilla, salt, and eggs using a spatula.

4. Mix in the white chocolate and butter that was put to the side.

5. Put it all in the pan that was sprayed with oil. It’s not much to look at and it’s strange, but darn yummy! You’ll see it with your own eyes soon!
And your tastebuds! Put it in the oven for 30 minutes.

6. Take it out of the oven and sprinkle with the toffee bits, bake for another 10 minutes.

the best part…

Look how crunchy that toffee got on top! I know it looks tempting but wait until it’s cooled down.
I know, I know. You don’t like to wait, but you must, or you will burn your mouth!
You can speed up the process by placing the pan in the fridge for a while.
Let me know how you did with this recipe. Enjoy!
